About Us Administrative Unit 2 Surgery East provides administrative services to both Surgery Sahlgrenska and Surgery East. We are now seeking a medical secretary for outpatient care, based at the Pain Center, East Hospital. Since the Pain Center is located at multiple sites (East Hospital, Lindhultsgatan, and Högsbo Hospital), the position's location may vary based on need. The Pain Center consists of a team of over 45 people including physicians, nurses, psychologists, a case manager, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and administrative staff. We are a specialist-level clinic offering consultations and time-limited treatments. Together with six colleagues, you will participate in planning, coordination, and continuity in patient care. You will be responsible for administration, including referral and medical record management, system registration, statistical compilation, and quality assurance of our administrative systems. Daily tasks consist primarily of healthcare documentation – printing of visit notes, referral documentation, referral responses, letters and certificates, as well as diagnosis registration. Your duties also include other documentation such as meeting minutes, mail handling, and medical record management through document patching before scanning into e-archives. In this role, you will be in close contact with both patients and colleagues where communication, structure, and attention to detail are of great importance. You have the ability to collaborate but can also plan and work independently. The role of medical secretary is undergoing change and we are facing digitalization of various tasks.
