Approximately 110 students attend from preschool through grade 6, and in grade 7, students continue at Stenstalidskolan (F-9), which is also part of the northern school district. The position is 75% and is time-limited until December 31 with a strong possibility of extension. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a school support staff member, you will work closely with a student with diabetes throughout the entire school day. Your primary task is to create a sense of security and provide the support the student needs to participate in instruction and other school activities in the best possible way. In this role, you will support the student both in the classroom and during breaks. You will help monitor the student's well-being and follow the established routines for the student's diabetes care in collaboration with school staff and guardians. Work duties include, among other things: • being attentive to the student's needs and well-being related to diabetes • following agreed-upon routines and instructions regarding the student's diabetes management • promote the student's independence, security and participation in school activities • collaborate with school staff and guardians to create a functional and secure school environment. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone with a high school diploma, and we would appreciate if you have: • education from a child and leisure program, leisure leader training, or other relevant education for the position • previous experience working at a school • knowledge of diabetes • a driver's license (Class B) In addition to the above, it is important that you are a trustworthy and calm person who takes great personal responsibility for your work duties. You can quickly shift focus and see flexibility as a natural part of working in a school environment. You adapt your communication style based on students' needs and provide support in an engaged and secure manner.
