About the position The Intensive Care Unit is a specialized emergency department connected to Karolinska University Hospital's highly specialized care mission. This means that only patients requiring our resources in accordance with the highly specialized mission are admitted. This includes patients undergoing active treatment where cancer is the most common diagnosis, accepted referrals, and emergency care for certain specific patient groups who need our specific expertise, such as trauma, pressure-related illnesses, and carbon monoxide poisoning requiring hyperbaric chamber treatment as well as ECMO care. As a nurse with us, you work with care and management of acutely ill patients. We work in teams consisting of nursing assistants and nurses in close collaboration with physicians, and together we take responsibility for the initial acute care of severely ill or injured patients.
