The Gävle operations area encompasses the closed correctional facility Gävle, the open correctional facility Gruvberget, and the remand prison Bomhus. Our operations run 24/7, and the largest professional group is correctional officers, with over a dozen other positions in support to ensure we fulfill our mission. At the Gävle and Gruvberget facilities, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-governance, or work operations, which primarily consist of carpentry production.
