Content and Responsibilities
As University Director, you contribute to Malmö University's continued successful development in line with our https://mau.se/om-oss/strategi/ for an open university with knowledge and society in focus. You lead the university's shared operational support, which in a professional, knowledgeable and development-oriented manner supports the university's management and all operations in the work of education and research of the highest quality with significant societal impact. The shared operational support is also responsible for ensuring the university fulfills its overarching authority responsibility.
You are part of the university leadership and work closely with the Rector, other members of the university leadership, the university's management team as well as the student unions. You represent Malmö University in various local, national and international contexts. The role also includes active environmental monitoring and operational development regarding, for example, internationalization, digitalization and AI, security and preparedness, efficient resource use as well as environment and sustainable development.
Qualifications
As University Director, you meet the following requirements:
you have relevant academic qualifications.
you have experience from the university and higher education sector and knowledge of regulations and conditions for state authorities and higher education and research.
you have substantial management experience at a relevant level from a complex organization.
you have solid experience of successfully leading strategic change work within operational support.
you have high integrity, are development-oriented and responsible with good analytical and strategic ability and find it easy to create and maintain good relationships as well as very good collaboration skills.
you are a clear, engaging, inclusive and communicative leader.
you have a good ability to communicate well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Meritorious for this position are further:
experience of being a manager of managers.
experience of leading, and in close collaboration with academic leaders, teachers, researchers and students, developing professional operational support to meet needs in education, research and collaboration.
experience of working in an international environment and of work with internationalization.
experience of working with AI and digital systems as well as driving digital transformation.
Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
Workplace
The shared operational support consists of approximately 550 employees organized in eight departments; Facilities and Services, Finance, HR, IT, Communications, Management Office, Student Center and University Chancellery, as well as five administrative offices. The operational support is located close to operations and is found in all our buildings.
