Native Language Teacher - Turkish

The Native Language Unit's mission is to provide Gotland's primary and secondary schools, both municipal and independent, with native language teachers and study guides in high-demand languages. Today we are approximately 30 dedicated employees, most of whom have traveling positions. We have a shared workplace in Solberga School's facilities in Visby where our administrator and the unit's two managers are based. The Native Language Unit has well-functioning work environment and collaboration practices. Your Tasks We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in teaching and who makes every effort to conduct teaching at a high level, thereby stimulating students' desire to learn and creating conditions for them to reach their goals. Daily work is largely independent with planning, teaching, and follow-up based on the Swedish National Agency for Education curriculum. The position may include both native language instruction and study guidance in the native language. Teaching can take place both through distance learning (digital) and in-person instruction (on-site at schools) across Gotland. Each week the unit meets to work on collaborative learning and development of instruction. Who Are You? To receive a permanent position, you must have at least upper secondary education and have completed Swedish as a Second Language 3. You also need at least one year of full-time teaching experience with good references. It is advantageous if you have teacher certification with authorization to teach native language. As a native language teacher, you need good skills in both spoken and written forms of your native language, and as a study guide, you also need good skills in both the Swedish language and the Swedish school system. You need digital curiosity and personal drive to learn the digital tools and learning platforms you use daily. You may work with several different schools, which requires a high degree of independence as well as good collaboration and communication skills. We prefer that you have access to a B driver's license and your own car available for business travel. The Region's car agreement is established if the position becomes relevant. Personal suitability is decisive for being offered the position. According to the School Act, an extract from the police's criminal records is required before employment in preschool, school, and after-school care.
