About the Role As Engineering Quality Lead, you'll own holistic quality work throughout the entire product development cycle, from discovery to delivery. The role isn't about testing features yourself, but about ensuring the right conditions, working methods, and technical solutions are in place for teams to deliver with high quality. You thrive in a leadership role where you influence through knowledge, structure, and coaching, but you're also not afraid to dig into the code when needed. You have a clear engineering mindset and are comfortable with code, architecture, and process alike. You've likely worked in product teams where quality was business-critical and automation was a fundamental requirement. You have a deep understanding of the software development process and can take a helicopter perspective while also diving into details to reason about the risks that different types of changes carry. We'd love to see that you have: Several years of experience with quality engineering or test automation in product development Strong technical understanding of web-based and distributed systems Experience building and maintaining automated tests across the entire stack Experience working in a coaching and supportive manner with development teams Ability to identify risks early and translate them into concrete actions Technical Experience (Desirable) Designing test strategies for unit, integration, E2E, and regression tests Programming in languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, .NET, or similar Test automation frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or testcontainers Testing REST APIs and microservices Performance and load testing, for example with k6 Docker and container-based environments Approaches like TDD CI/CD Ideally you're based in Umeå, where much of our development work takes place.
