The Umeå operations area includes the closed facility Umeå, the open facility Sörbyn, and the remand facility Umeå. The largest occupational group is correctional officers, but healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others also work here. At Sörbyn facility, inmates are engaged in labor market training, learning centers, various treatment programs, or work in kitchens, carpentry, plant cultivation, textiles, and more. Sörbyn is an agricultural facility with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. At Umeå facility, inmates are engaged in wood/industrial work, kitchens, learning centers, and treatment programs. The Umeå facility and remand facility are approximately a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and Sörbyn facility is best reached by car. Staff parking is available at all units. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates open healthcare services, which means that all prisons and remand facilities have healthcare clinics where inmates can seek care. At the clinics, in addition to nurses, there are also general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing various conditions, and you will also assess which visitors should see a doctor, psychologist, and physiotherapist. This means you will work with both somatic and psychiatric healthcare for inmates, assist at doctor's clinics, and administer medications. You will be employed as a nurse within the entire Umeå operations area but with placement at Umeå facility. When needed, work may also occur at Sörbyn facility or Umeå remand facility. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-insight. You find it easy to collaborate with other people and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you are calm, stable, and controlled. You have great integrity and the ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. You are quality-conscious and thorough, and have the ability to structure your own work and drive your processes forward.
