Postdoctoral Researcher in Intelligence Studies

About the workplace The position is located in Stockholm at the Department of Defense Systems, Swedish Defence University. The Swedish Defence University hosts a newly established interdisciplinary Platform for Intelligence and Security Services. Learn more about the platform at https://www.fhs.se/forskning/natverk-och-samarbeten/plattform-for-underrattelse--och-sakerhetstjanst.html. Description Intelligence services are characterized by significant uncertainty, an adversary that misleads and protects secrets, and consequences of operations that are substantial. Actions taken affect developments, and decision-making at the national level is difficult to model. Additionally, the events that intelligence analysis must understand and predict are rarely occurring. Together, this creates a challenging information environment in many respects. At the same time, recent technological developments, particularly in artificial intelligence, have raised hopes for using large datasets to improve intelligence analysis. This is often associated with so-called Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), where open or commercially available information is analyzed, but also applies more generally to the various types of data that intelligence services collect. The Department of Defense Systems is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study the possibilities of using data and systems science methods to improve intelligence analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, various forms of artificial intelligence. The research is applied and may be conducted in collaboration with government agencies and companies, which involves working with practitioners. The Swedish Defence University is making an investment in intelligence and security services within the framework of a newly launched Platform. One development area concerns new technology and large datasets. The postdoctoral work is independent but will be conducted within the framework of the Platform for Intelligence and Security Services and should connect to other ongoing research at the Swedish Defence University, thereby enabling future research applications and education. Duties The postdoctoral researcher is expected to make independent contributions to the research field. Specifically, you are expected to develop methods relevant to intelligence analysis. The work also includes contributing to the research and educational environment in intelligence and security services at the Swedish Defence University. The duties also include dissemination of research results at conferences and in peer-reviewed scientific publications. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other researchers at the Swedish Defence University. Contract research may be included. Administrative tasks and teaching-related tasks will be part of the work, up to 20%. Studying intelligence services presents special challenges due to confidentiality and security protection. However, research within the project should be designed in a way that does not require access to classified information. Who are we looking for? We are looking for you who have: Completed a doctoral degree (or equivalent) by the time of the employment decision in an area relevant to the position, for example data and systems science, data science, or engineering. Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. It is meritorious if you have: Interest in—and preferably documented experience with—working on the challenges in the information environment that intelligence analysis entails, and who wants to develop methods to address them. An interdisciplinary profile: if you have a doctorate in a technical field, we would like you to also have a basic degree in social sciences or humanities. If you have a doctorate in a social science, intelligence-related field, we would like you to also have a basic degree in a technical or natural science field. Meritorious experiences for this position include: Working with data in areas that have challenges similar to those of intelligence analysis Development of methods for data collection and structuring of quantitative data Data quality Data analysis Use of AI in method development Research in areas relevant to intelligence and security services Working with confidentiality and security protection Publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles Work with intelligence services Applicants who completed their doctoral degree no more than three years before the employment decision will be prioritized. If there are special reasons, such a degree may have been completed earlier. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, positions of trust within trade union organizations, service in total defense or similar circumstances, as well as clinical service or service/assignment relevant to the subject area. Personal qualities You work independently, in a structured manner, and with high precision. Furthermore, you have excellent communication and collaboration skills. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. About the employment This is a fixed-term full-time position (100%) for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension. An employment at the Swedish Defence University may involve a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). The employment may also include war placement. If you are already placed for war deployment in your current employment at an agency and your competence is needed in the Swedish Defence University's war organization, negotiations will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish Defence University regarding your placement. Start date Start date as soon as possible by agreement. Application Your application should contain: A personal letter explaining your motivation for applying for this position Your CV including a publication list and (planned) date of doctoral degree A research plan of maximum 2 pages where you describe your research interests and approach to this specific project Your previous publications relevant to this position (maximum 10) Submit your application through the Swedish Defence University's recruitment system by clicking the link "Log in and apply for the job" on the job posting page. Mark your application with reference number HR 121/2026. Your application must be submitted no later than August 28, 2026. Customer Account Manager for Customer Development at TradingSolutions

Would you like to develop existing customers and grow the business as a Customer Account Manager at TradingSolutions in Stockholm? Would you like to take the next step in a customer development-focused account management role at a successful company with strong growth ambitions? At TradingSolutions in Stockholm, you will develop existing customers, drive increased business, and contribute to continued growth in a profitable operation with a proven business model and many excellent reference customers. The role is currently called Customer Developer internally and has clear elements of account management, with a focus on developing existing customer relationships, identifying business potential, and creating more business opportunities over time. Here, speed and entrepreneurial spirit are combined with structure, customer value, and clear business focus. Your Employment Offer At TradingSolutions, you get the best of both worlds. You join a company with entrepreneurial energy, short decision-making paths, and a culture where you dare to test, adjust, and improve, while the business stands on a stable foundation with profitability, established customers, and a business model that works. Here there is market demand, customer value, and a clear willingness to continue growing. As an Account Manager, you will have a customer development role where relationships, structure, and business acumen become crucial. Internally, the role is currently called Customer Developer, which well describes the core of the task: working with existing customers and helping them use TradingSolutions' offerings in a way that creates value over time. The role has clear account management elements, but is not a heavy strategic key account role with significant own budget responsibility from the start. You will have the opportunity to grow in customer responsibility, influence working methods, and contribute to how the company continues to develop its customer base. Your Responsibilities As an Account Manager at TradingSolutions, you are responsible for developing business with existing customers. The role is currently called Customer Developer internally, and your focus will be to build relationships, understand needs, identify potential, and create more business opportunities within an already established customer base. In the role, you will, among other things: • develop existing customer relationships and contribute to increased business • follow up with customers who have previously purchased or used TradingSolutions' services • identify business potential in the customer base and prioritize the right activities • drive commercial dialogues with decision-makers and contacts • work systematically with customer portfolio, CRM, and pipeline • schedule and conduct customer meetings, digitally, by phone, and if needed in person • collaborate internally with sales, marketing, and other parts of the organization • contribute customer insights that develop working methods, offerings, and customer value The role includes elements of account management responsibility, but is primarily a customer development role. The focus is on activity, relationships, follow-up, and business growth in the existing customer base, rather than new customer acquisition or full strategic key account ownership. Worth Knowing TradingSolutions works with digital solutions and auction services in the automotive industry. It is a successful and profitable company with a strong focus on continued growth. The culture is characterized by speed, curiosity, and action-orientation. Here, people work close to customers, test ideas, learn quickly, and develop what creates real value for the customer. The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probation period. TradingSolutions is located on Tegnérgatan in Stockholm, and you are expected to work from the office rather than remotely. This gives you close contact with colleagues, short paths to decisions, and good opportunities to quickly familiarize yourself with the business, customers, and operations. You will become part of a commercial organization where customer development is a prioritized area going forward. The role suits you if you thrive in an environment where everything is not pre-packaged, but where the direction is clear and the business is already proven. Here there is both stability and room to make an impact. You work closely with the Business Area Manager, who describes his leadership style as freedom with responsibility. He expects you to drive your work forward independently, but is also available as a coach, sounding board, and support in prioritizations. Our Expectations We are looking for someone with experience in B2B sales, customer development, account management, or a similar commercial role where you have worked closely with customers and contributed to increased business. You don't need to have had a fully strategic account management responsibility before, but you should be experienced in driving customer dialogues, understanding business potential, and working systematically toward goals. You are comfortable contacting customers, following up on conversations, and building trust over time. You have a business-like approach, enjoy building relationships, and are motivated by seeing how the right activities lead to results. The role requires good organizational skills, as you will work with customer portfolios, pipelines, priorities, and follow-ups. We would like you to have good CRM and system experience and be accustomed to using data to plan, follow up, and prioritize your customer work. It is also positive if you are curious about how AI and digital tools can make sales and customer development work more efficient. You communicate fluently in Swedish and have good understanding of English in a business context. As a person, you are relationship-building, business-driven, and self-directed. You like to take responsibility but also appreciate having a manager who acts as a support and sounding board. We believe that to thrive long-term, you like an entrepreneurial company where decisions are made close to the business, where customer value is central, and where testing, learning, and improving is preferred over lengthy processes. Interested? The recruitment is conducted in collaboration with recruitment and consulting company Talent Navigation Group (TNG), which with unbiased recruitment, staffing, and interim services helps employers with competency supply – faster, more objectively, and with new perspectives that drive growth. We look forward to receiving your application with a CV or LinkedIn profile, and without a cover letter.
