Ref: 20261688 Do you want the chance to make a difference for children and families in Malmö? As we are now expanding with 2 additional family treatment specialists on our Presence Team, here's your opportunity to apply for a position where you can truly make a difference! The Presence Team is a support service aimed at children in grades 2-9 with extensive and often long-term school absenteeism. The intervention begins with a thorough assessment that then guides the work. Depending on the child's situation, work is conducted directly focusing on returning to school at home, or alternatively with instruction in the Presence Team's facilities as a first step in breaking isolation. The Presence Team started as an ESF-financed project focused on grades 7-9. Based on positive results, the departments have decided to make the work method an ordinary activity, and also to expand with family treatment resources for grades 2-6. Malmö City's Presence Team is organizationally part of the Employment and Social Services Department (ASF) and the Primary School Department (GRF). As a family treatment specialist, you are employed by the Employment and Social Services Department in the Family Interventions unit. When the current positions are filled, the Presence Team will consist of 5 family treatment specialists, 5 teachers, 1 special educator, 1 coordinator, and 2 section managers. Duties The Presence Team is an intervention based on collaboration. Here you work together with teachers and a special educator to help children and young people break isolation and increase school attendance. As a family treatment specialist, you are responsible for conducting treatment from a systemic perspective to increase protective factors and reduce risk factors related to school absenteeism. Treatment is conducted in various configurations; primarily with the young person and guardian as well as other relevant people in the system. Network work and collaboration, particularly with home school but also with, for example, child rehabilitation services and child and adolescent psychiatry, are also central parts of the work. Treatment is conducted at the office but also in the home environment, outdoors, and in the facilities of respective collaboration partners. When needed, some work is also conducted outside regular office hours. As a team member in the Presence Team, you will have great opportunities to structure and plan your work, based on shared responsibility for the team's functioning and development. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another university education that the employer deems equivalent. It is also meriting to have experience working with interpreters and knowledge of languages other than Swedish. As a person, you are humble and curious, and interested in the world around you. You are relationship-building and have a high degree of professionalism. You place great emphasis on the whole picture and have a good ability to structure and formulate treatment goals. You are humble in the face of families' different living circumstances and flexible in finding viable ways forward. In your work group, you contribute your knowledge and support, and you are also open about areas where you feel less confident. You want to contribute to a workplace with great work joy and have an interest in development, questioning, and testing new methods. Given that the service has been a project that will transition to ordinary operations, you also need to be patient with change and accept that not all answers are always available from the beginning.
