Specialist Nurse with Research Interest

At the Primary Care Clinic, we want to conduct clinic-based research of high relevance to our patient groups. To further strengthen our research team, we are now seeking a specialist nurse with research interests. The base employment is as a specialist nurse at the primary care clinic. The position offers the opportunity to try working, under supervision, with various parts of the research process. We offer a permanent position as a specialist nurse on our acute geriatric department GAVA where you get the opportunity to combine clinical work with work in a research project. The distribution between clinical work and research may vary over time. Our Offer Welcome to a workplace where care, respect, and safety permeate everyday life. Work at GAVA is both varied and meaningful. Here you meet elderly patients with different backgrounds and life histories—meetings that often leave strong impressions. The day can alternate between calm and intensity, with rapid changes and new priorities, but there is always time for important conversations and genuine encounters with patients. As part of the employment, you will have the opportunity to try working with research in the interdisciplinary project VITAL (Violence Intervention and Treatment, Acting through Local partnership). The project is led from the primary care clinic / Linköping University, but is a collaboration with other universities and municipalities. The overall purpose of the project is, in cooperation with stakeholders (elderly persons themselves, relatives, staff, and volunteer organizations), to develop and test new methods to prevent violence against elderly persons and provide adequate help to those affected. Initially, you will have the opportunity to work, under supervision, with data collection and analysis in the research project for approximately half of your working time. Your tasks will include coordinating data collection and conducting group interviews with research participants. Job Description As a nurse at GAVA, you lead nursing care in a care team with five to seven patients. Our patients often have significant care needs, which makes the nurse a key person in comprehensive care around them. The department has several supporting functions that strengthen the team and facilitate your work: coordinator, liaison officer, care coordinator, and meal service attendant. These roles contribute with administration, supervision, and needs assessment. The clinic also has pharmacists on site who provide support in medication management. You will receive a four-week introduction adapted to your needs and experience. It alternates e-learning with patient-centered work, and you will follow various support functions to understand the operations. During the introduction, you have a mentor who follows up on your progress and supports your development. The position is located in a facility that operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This means work on day, evening, and night shifts as well as weekends according to schedule. About You You are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. You also have a research-preparatory academic degree. It is particularly meritorious if it consists of a specialist nurse degree, but other relevant qualifications may also fulfill the requirement. We also wish that you have a strong interest in geriatric healthcare. Excellent knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English. Good organizational ability and ability to work independently. We are looking for someone with several years of professional experience and a strong interest in clinical research. Previous research experience is meritorious but not required. We would like to see that you have ambition and interest in undergoing research education and working with research in the geriatric field in the long term. Experience in geriatric care is meritorious. Since the role involves working in various digital systems, we would like you to have good IT skills. Previous experience in the specialist field is meritorious but not required. Experience in relevant or related areas is also meritorious. As a person, you are flexible, outgoing, and driven. You are confident in your professional role and find it easy to work independently, while you enjoy collaborating in a team and have good teamwork skills. You take responsibility, adapt easily to changing circumstances, and can work structurally to prioritize your efforts. Thoroughness, responsibility, and commitment are qualities we highly value, as well as a helpful and positive attitude. Application and Employment We are looking for someone interested in rotating shifts day/evening/night; work schedules can be discussed. We work two out of five weekends and you have the opportunity to influence your schedule. For more information regarding the research, please contact Johanna Simmons, research leader for the VITAL project and research manager at the primary care clinic [email protected] For employment in patient-facing work within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to complete a health declaration. We warmly welcome your application! If you need help registering in the system, contact Customer Support, 010-103 60 00, during office hours. Do you want to work at a highly specialized care unit with a focus on quality, patient safety, and employee-driven development? We are seeking a nurse to join our committed team. We are located in the O-building at Linköping University Hospital. Our Offer At the hematology clinic, we place great emphasis on our employees' development and engagement. We strive to create a good and sustainable work environment where collaboration, participation, and well-being are central. Everything we do has a clear focus on patient benefit and care quality, where each employee's competence and contribution is an important part of the whole. Initially: Personal development and approximately six weeks of structured orientation, with a mentor throughout the entire orientation period as well as a long-term individual development plan. During orientation, you will receive training in safe medication and chemotherapy handling, theoretical study days, and observational placements at other clinic sections including outpatient care/day care, research nurse unit, and cell therapy unit. Later: Career development program within the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics and Cancer Care (CKOC) with the opportunity to specialize within one of our core areas. Advanced training in chemotherapy handling (chemotherapy certification) and hematology education both internally and externally. Regular internal continuing education. Advanced education as a specialist nurse in medicine or oncology with paid leave. Over time, you may be offered expanded assignments with deepened responsibility to promote employee-driven development. Rotation opportunities within the clinic, for example between outpatient/day care and inpatient ward. Other Benefits Individual schedule planning in Tessa - opportunity to work two out of six weekends instead of every other weekend or two out of five weekends, thanks to systematic staffing with rotation between sections. This provides better predictability, more even workload, and sustainable work-life balance, while optimizing clinic staffing and work environment. Opportunity to work on developing your own area of responsibility within nursing care. We offer the possibility to schedule reading/administration/responsibility day shifts. Accessible leadership from ward managers and collaboration with the clinic's specialist nurses and experienced colleagues in daily work. We encourage you to read our career ladder for nurses and learn about your benefits with us. Job Description On the inpatient ward, we care for patients with tumor and deficiency diseases of the blood-forming system such as anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. This involves tasks in general and specific medical-hematological care and nursing, highly specialized care in cell therapy and stem cell transplantation, as well as other advanced treatments. We actively work with quality improvement, are an accredited stem cell transplant facility according to JAICE standards. We are also accredited in cancer care and are part of Linköping Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). The clinic has day care/outpatient services, a cell therapy unit, and a clinical trial unit. We provide the latest cell therapy treatments including CAR-T cell therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) and BiTe treatment. As part of the care service's commitment to offering patient-centered and resource-efficient care, we have intensified our work over the past year to develop and implement outpatient treatment formats and self-care. As an employee, you will be part of an innovative team at the forefront of creating safe, secure, and patient-centered care. Medical nursing is a significant part of daily work for nurses. Work Team We are a nurse-rich ward with close collaboration with nursing assistants, physicians, and allied health professionals at the clinic (pharmacist, dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker). Requirements: Registered nurse. Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 (good command of Swedish language, both spoken and written). Meritorious: Over 1 year of professional experience as a nurse. Experience working in hematology in inpatient care or outpatient care or both. Experience or interest in rotation between outpatient and inpatient care. Specialist nurse. We value your personal qualities.
