About the job - Transporting and handling the deceased When a person passes away, the body must be transported in a dignified and safe manner. This may involve pickup from the place of death to the nearest mortuary or transport to the Medical Examiner for examination. As a transporter with us, you become part of the entire chain of handling the deceased. The work is always done in teams of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You work closely with authorities, the Medical Examiner's office, municipal facilities, external care facilities, and our own funeral homes. Working hours are variable and workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and quieter shifts. The work also includes responsibility for vehicle maintenance, material handling, and independent judgment.
