We are seeking Transporters for transporting the deceased based out of Västerås Would you like to work in a socially important operation where professionalism, respect, and care always take center stage? Begravningsbolaget AB is now seeking new employees for transporting the deceased as part of our service. We are seeking hourly extra staff for work during daytime, evenings, weekends, and as needed. About the job - Transporting and handling the deceased When a person passes away, the body must be transported in a dignified and safe manner. This may involve pickup from the place of death to the nearest mortuary or transport to the Medical Examiner for examination. As a transporter with us, you become part of the entire chain of handling the deceased. The work is always done in teams of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You work closely with authorities, the Medical Examiner's office, municipal facilities, external care facilities, and our own funeral homes. Working hours are variable and workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and quieter shifts. The work also includes responsibility for vehicle maintenance, material handling, and independent judgment. Job responsibilities Transporting and handling the deceased Coffin placements and assignments for our funeral homes Vehicle maintenance and handling of work and consumable materials Coordination with authorities, care staff, and family members Qualifications High school education or equivalent Class B driver's license (required) and comfortable driving larger vehicles Basic computer skills No criminal record and not appearing in the police record (background check performed in accordance with police authority requirements) Good physical health and stable mental well-being as the work can be both physically demanding and psychologically stressful Meritorious Experience transporting the deceased Experience from healthcare, care services, transport, or other service-oriented operations Personal qualities We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are seeking someone who: Has personal maturity and good judgment Is thorough, responsible, and stress-resilient Has good teamwork skills and enjoys working as part of a team Is flexible and can adapt to both intense and calm work shifts Has good communication skills in speech and writing Is empathetic and can treat people in difficult situations with respect and compassion Has an ethical approach and contributes to dignified handling of the deceased Terms of employment We apply individual salary determination in accordance with Transport guidelines.
