Kitchen Manager at Preschool
Our cook is on long-term sick leave and we are now seeking a substitute to manage the kitchen for us. We don't know the exact duration yet, but it will be through January 2027, likely longer. We want you to have experience with independent kitchen work including menu planning and ordering. Food education is important to us, and previous experience working with children and/or in preschool kitchens is a plus. Familjelyckan is a small parent-run cooperative with a strong focus on highlighting each child's individual strengths in a combination of sibling groups and age-based divisions under the guidance of a trusted pedagogical team. Here you will meet high confidence in your abilities and plenty of space to work together with your colleagues to shape the activities. As a parent cooperative, close collaboration with parents is important to us. Parents do not work in daily operations but contribute with cleaning, maintenance, and similar tasks. Familjelyckan is both a preschool and after-school program, which means children can start with us when they're ready for preschool and then stay under the guidance of the same pedagogical team as long as they need childcare. The preschool operates in its own house with 2-3 educators on each floor. After-school is a separate unit with two educators in another location, but we combine the operations during the first and last hours of the day. As our kitchen manager, you will be part of the team, eat together with the children, and are welcome to contribute to developing our food education based on your experience and ideas. You are independently responsible for our kitchen including self-inspection, food hygiene, and cleaning. You have great freedom in the role, set your own menu, and are responsible for purchasing according to your budget and a basic policy of food prepared from scratch, with variety based on season and locally sourced ingredients. We would like you to be social, enjoy lending a helping hand and being part of the operation, answer the phone sometimes, perhaps have a child in the kitchen with you now and then when appropriate, and collaborate with the educators around themes related to food, groceries, or holidays.

JOB DUTIES Your duties will include accompanying residents to swimming lessons and other activities they participate in.
