The facility's goal is to provide structured, secure, and long-term interventions that strengthen individuals' capacity for change, stability, and a functional daily life. Russinbacken operates a primary care residential program with 16 placements divided between two houses. Three treatment counselors work in close collaboration in a structured daily environment with a clear focus on individual treatment plans. Work is conducted using evidence-based and structured methods. Treatment is grounded in a 12-step program adapted for youth and incorporates motivational interviewing (MI) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Additionally, manual-based programs are used such as Criminality as a Lifestyle, Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), and Lokahi.
