Quartermaster at 1618. Sensor Company of F 16
Sweden's control of airspace depends on sensors and communications systems that are active around the clock. To support this, there are mobile systems to strengthen radar and radio coverage where air warfare requires it. This is the Sensor Company's task: to ensure that assigned systems are in place where needed and deliver information to the air force's combat operations. About the Unit The Stril Battalion's Sensor Company is unique in solving its tasks. If you are seeking a technically oriented company with a unique mission and nationwide operational area, you have found the right place. The Sensor Company solves its tasks regardless of threat level, which requires maintaining common soldier foundations to be able to solve tasks everywhere, anytime. The company's two platoons currently operate the Stril radar systems PS-871 and PS-861, and the aircraft radio systems TMR30B and TMR50. Solving these tasks requires a broad range of capabilities such as work on masts and towers, heavy vehicle operations, and systems training; in addition to common soldier service. Main Duties As Quartermaster at the company, you will be part of the company staff where you will be the company's hub regarding the company's material resources and development. Daily, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company staff and leadership's equipment is operationally ready and, in consultation with the platoons and battalion staff, work toward ensuring the company has the right equipment to accomplish its tasks. During operations, you will assist company leadership in monitoring the platoons' logistical needs. Since the company's groups can be dispersed nationwide when executing tasks, you need to be able to coordinate resources across the country. The company's equipment is sensitive and transport services often need to be coordinated, which falls on the quartermaster's shoulders. The company's activities are broad in scope, which means that in addition to your primary role, you can develop expertise in relevant fields for the company, such as climbing, vehicle operations, or medical services.
