Department of Animal Biosciences The Department of Animal Biosciences is seeking an engaged IT Technician who wants to help drive our operations forward. About the Job We are looking for someone who wants to become a central resource for our department. As an IT Technician, you will be an important part of our organization and responsible for delivering high-quality user support. You will work closely with our IT Coordinator to manage the department's IT infrastructure, including both hardware and software. Your main areas of responsibility include: Provide users with support ranging from simple questions to more advanced technical challenges. Ensure that all applications function effectively and are properly licensed. Troubleshoot and resolve problems that impact operations. Manage procurement and installation of IT equipment to maintain a modern and functioning IT environment. Work is conducted via phone, remote access, and on-site visits. We encourage you to contribute ideas and solutions to improve our work methods and processes. Your Background We are looking for someone who has: Solid experience in the IT field. Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Ability to collaborate effectively, with flexibility and a proactive mindset. Required Experience: Post-secondary education (KY or University education) IT support in research and educational environments. Support for Office applications, email, and client management (Windows, macOS, Linux). Management and troubleshooting of licenses and applications in complex IT environments. Desirable Experience: We would like you to also have experience in the following areas: Incident management and troubleshooting of IT equipment. Counseling and procurement of IT equipment. Customer service and IT service desk work. Development of user support and guides. Experience or training in IT security.
