Connected to the hospital is an emergency department with limited hours and an acute care unit. Additionally, Skåne's largest elective orthopedic operation is based here. Within the orthopedic operating area, there is an operating department, outpatient surgical clinic, post-operative recovery, anesthesia department, inpatient beds, and outpatient services. The operating area is expected to perform approximately 5,000 patient procedures in Hässleholm this year and aims to successively increase volume. The Future Orthopedics in Hässleholm (FORTH) project is underway, constructing a new hospital building with high-tech operating rooms. The operation has a focus on volume and research in prosthetic surgery of the knee and hip. Additionally, there is a large and highly specialized foot surgery section that includes advanced hindfoot surgery in addition to forefoot and midfoot surgery.
