Our Operations At Hematology Department 101A, we care for patients with blood diseases, such as leukemias and myeloma. Here, highly specialized care is provided with a focus on both medical quality and person-centered nursing care. We care for patients throughout the entire care process – from investigation to intensive treatment and, for some patients, blood stem cell transplantation or CAR T-cell therapy. Stem cell transplantation is one of our specialty areas and we are accredited according to the European quality assurance standard JACIE. The work is varied and medically advanced. You work with, among other things, central lines, cytostatic drugs, immunotherapy, infection-fighting medications, and transfusions of blood components. Monitoring and assessment of patients in connection with advanced treatments is also included. At the same time, nursing care is a central part of the work. We support patients and loved ones throughout the entire care process. Many treatments last several weeks and recur over time, which means that we get to know our patients well and follow them through much of their treatment journey. We work in multidisciplinary teams where nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and other professionals collaborate closely. Thanks to the specialized care, we have a high nurse-to-patient ratio and you will have an experienced nurse as your mentor during your first year. JACIE accreditation means that we work in a structured manner with clear procedures and checklists for all activities.
