Medical Secretary, Acute Clinic, Umeå

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for research and innovation to deliver results. At the Acute Clinic in Umeå, we meet patients with acute illnesses and injuries who need rapid medical assessment, prioritization, and care, 24 hours a day. We receive approximately 47,000 patients annually with varying care needs. The work is conducted in multiprofessional teams where nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries collaborate with emergency physicians and doctors from various specialties to provide safe and cohesive care. New this year is that we have opened a primary care urgent clinic under the acute clinic's management. Through this, we have developed workflows and working methods to streamline the handling of primary care patients with acute problems. The goal is to create conditions for care in the right way, at the right place, and at the right time. Within the clinic's administrative section works a dedicated team of currently eight medical secretaries, including one section leader and one department manager. For us, a good work environment, an open and permissive workplace culture, and having fun at work are important. At our clinic, we constantly develop our working methods, and the secretarial team is a natural part of this work. We are now seeking a new colleague who wants to work with us in our team of medical secretaries—our experts in medical documentation and healthcare administration. With us you will get: • An individual introduction program where you gradually gain insight into different aspects of the work and routines. • Varying work hours with the opportunity to plan your work days and time off. • Very interesting, independent, and varied work. • Close collaboration with other staff and other clinics. • The opportunity to develop expertise in your area of interest, such as ethics, environment, health, or IT. • Actively participate in developing the organization with new ideas and thoughts. • Broad expertise in medical documentation as we work across most specialist areas. The Acute Clinic in Umeå is growing—that's why we need more staff. We welcome your application! 1 position(s). DUTIES As a medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable good healthcare interventions that impact many. Your work with us involves medical documentation for several clinics, telephone service, referral and mail handling, cash register operations, and more. The work also includes providing good service to colleagues and patients. Part of your time will be spent at the reception area where you support the daily administrative flow and function as an administrative resource to reception and the rest of the clinic. You will also be part of the trauma team, where you handle documentation during emergency response to trauma alerts. This role gives you the opportunity to work close to the operations and contribute an important function in the care chain while gaining unique insight into the hospital's acute operations. The work follows the acute flow and means you work day, evening, and weekend shifts. We medical secretaries staff the acute clinic from 8:00 to 21:00 every day of the week. We work on a preference-based schedule, which means you can to some extent control your hours. Those of us working here can sum up our mission as exciting, developmental, and meaningful. With us, you get an interesting role in an organization that makes a difference. Together with knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues, we offer a workplace characterized by collaboration, development, and work satisfaction, where you become an important part of the whole. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you if you have higher education as a medical healthcare administrator or are trained as a medical secretary. We would like you to have professional experience, primarily in healthcare administration and familiarity with Cosmic. However, your personal qualities are most important.
