We are now seeking a unit manager for the operations group within the Children and Families unit. The Children and Families Unit The Children and Families unit consists of several functional groups that work together to provide children, young people and families with the right support at the right time: intake, investigation, operations including foster care, family resource center and family law. The unit also has an administrative officer, operations developer, specialist social workers and school social workers. You will be one of three unit managers and will work together with the operations manager and other colleagues in a joint management group. Main responsibilities The work is based on our shared vision: "...a safe, close and preventive social service where families are given the opportunity to strengthen their own resources and create sustainable living conditions." As unit manager you have an important task in putting the vision into practice. You lead the operations group's work and create conditions for employees to carry out their duties with high quality and with the child's and family's needs in focus. The operations group consists of 11 employees. You have personnel and work environment responsibility and are responsible for: leading, planning, following up and developing operations based on goals, assignments and plans conducting employee and salary conversations and overseeing the introduction of new employees leveraging employee expertise, commitment and development potential creating structure, clarity and good conditions for employees in daily work developing collaboration both within the organization and with external partners representing the unit in networks, including in the regional foster care organization GFO representing the board in court matters. You will be an important part of the unit's management group. Together we work for the whole and take joint responsibility for developing operations, strengthening quality and meeting future needs. We offer external supervision and competence development through our cooperation agreement with Härnösands municipality, including leadership, labor law and work environment. About you We are looking for you who is a confident, attentive and clear leader. You have an easy way of building trust and bring people with you through dialogue, participation and clear communication. You are stable and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex and difficult situations. You see opportunities rather than obstacles and enjoy finding solutions together with others. For us, collaboration is an important success factor. Therefore, you need to be able to see operations from a holistic perspective and build good relationships both within your own organization and with other actors. You have a good ability to express yourself, both orally and in writing, and are used to working in the Office package. Qualifications We are looking for you who: has a social work degree has good knowledge in the field of children and young people is well familiar with the legislation governing social services work It is meritorious if you have: documented experience in work management or management/leadership roles knowledge and experience in the work environment field experience in change management experience working in a politically governed organization experience in operations and/or foster care.
