Senior Foreman - Steel at Mega Project

As an important part of building society in northern Sweden, where some of the most crucial investments are taking place, we are now seeking the right person for this important role as Senior Foreman with solid expertise in steel, steel construction, and assembly for one of our complex projects. About the Role of Senior Foreman - Steel As Foreman - Steel, you will have overall operational responsibility for production within steel and assembly in your assigned area of responsibility. You will lead and direct production in close collaboration with the Block Chief, project management, and other production functions. You are responsible for ensuring that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and with the right quality, and in accordance with the project's schedule and technical requirements. The role involves significant responsibility for planning and coordination of steel work, where multiple contractors, professional groups, and technical disciplines work in parallel. Therefore, you need to have a good understanding of the entire production chain – from delivery and logistics to assembly, inspection, and finished construction. The role involves, among other things, that you: Lead and drive production within steel, steel construction, and assembly with clear operational responsibility. Plan, coordinate, and follow up steel work, assembly activities, and related production activities. Lead and coordinate skilled workers, subcontractors, assembly teams, and suppliers. Ensure that steel structures and assembly are carried out according to drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards. Plan and coordinate deliveries, lifts, assembly sequence, site establishment, and logistics related to steel structures. Ensure that production follows the project schedule and actively work to identify and manage deviations and production obstacles. Work proactively with production planning, resource management, risk management, and work preparations. Coordinate steel work with other disciplines such as concrete, earthworks, installation, and other construction work. Ensure that workplace environment and safety requirements are met, with particular focus on high-risk activities such as heavy lifting, assembly, and work at heights. Follow up on quality and documentation and ensure that any deviations are handled in a structured manner. Contribute to continuous improvements in production, assembly planning, and work methods. Function as an experienced leader and support to the Block Chief, project management, and other foremen. As Senior Foreman, you are expected to be able to work independently, make decisions within your area of responsibility, and take clear ownership of production from planning to completed work. Your Profile We are looking for you who have 4-5 years of experience in steel production and assembly in larger construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects. For the role, it is important that you not only have general experience as a foreman, but that you have practical experience in leading and coordinating work within steel and steel construction. You have: Several years of experience as a foreman or Senior Foreman in larger construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects. Documented experience in steel assembly, steel construction, or other extensive steel work. Experience leading skilled workers, assembly teams, and subcontractors in steel. Good understanding of construction drawings, assembly documentation, and technical documentation. Experience in production planning, assembly planning, resource management, and production follow-up. Experience coordinating between steel and other disciplines in complex projects. Good understanding of workplace environment and safety in, for example, assembly, heavy lifting, and work at heights. Relevant education in construction, infrastructure, steel, or corresponding technical field, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience. Work proactively to ensure effective collaboration and have a talent for building long-term and trusting relationships – both internally with colleagues and externally with subcontractors. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Valid driver's license (Category B) is a requirement. Merits It is particularly meritorious if you have: Experience from large industrial projects or heavy industry. Experience with extensive steel frames and heavy steel structures. Experience in assembly planning and complex lifting operations. Experience with welded and bolted steel structures. Experience in quality control and documentation in steel. Experience working according to relevant standards and requirements for the execution of steel structures. Experience from projects where steel, concrete, earthworks, and installations need to be coordinated in a complex production environment. Experience from projects with high demands on workplace environment, safety, quality, and documentation. Personal Qualities To succeed in the role, you are a confident and experienced production leader who is accustomed to taking responsibility for complex steel work and driving production forward. You have the ability to create structure even when many activities are taking place in parallel and can quickly identify production obstacles, prioritize correctly, and make decisions. You are clear in your leadership and communicate effectively with skilled workers, subcontractors, suppliers, project management, and other disciplines. As a person, you are solution-oriented, responsible, and safety-conscious. You have a strong production focus and thrive in large and complex projects where safety, quality, time, and coordination are crucial to the project's success. Work Location We expect 100% presence in Luleå, a prerequisite for succeeding in the role. However, it is possible to take on this role even for those living in another location. About the Project Manager Role As a project manager at NCC, you have an important and central role in production. Your Profile as Project Manager We are looking for someone with at least 3 years or more of experience as a project manager in construction production and relevant education in construction and civil engineering from a vocational or university college. As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and have strong communication skills. You are confident in your leadership role and have the ability to create engagement and participation in the project organization. You work proactively to ensure efficient collaboration and have a natural ability to build long-term and trustworthy relationships – both internally with colleagues and externally with subcontractors.
