The Education Department is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school programs, upper secondary school, and adult education. Skepptuna School and Odensala School are two F–6 schools located in the countryside and comprise the municipality's two smallest primary schools. Here we create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed and feel motivated to continue learning. We work according to a continuous thread from preschool class to grade 6 that encompasses our view of knowledge, learning, and core values. Our motto "It matters to me that you succeed" permeates the entire operation and relationships between students and staff. Teaching is based on cooperative learning and close collaboration between school and after-school program, where students receive structure, community, and engaging after-school activities. The schools are characterized by a strong collaborative culture, both internally and between our countryside schools, which strengthens safety, well-being, and development. 2 position(s). WORK TASKS We are looking for someone who wants to work at our after-school programs as needed. Our after-school programs are open between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Since the facilities are located in the countryside and one of the schools lacks public transportation connections, you need to have access to a car to get to and from work. As a substitute at the after-school program, you contribute to creating a safe, meaningful, and stimulating environment for students. The role involves both care and learning. You are where the children are, support them in their social relationships, and participate in or conduct simple activities based on the program's needs. You work closely with regular staff and contribute to creating a positive and developmental daily routine for the students. During school hours, you work as a resource in the classroom and support students and teachers in teaching. QUALIFICATIONS We would like you to have childcare worker training or a primary teacher degree with a focus on after-school programs. We would also like you to have good knowledge within sports and health and experience working in after-school programs. The position requires a B-level driver's license and access to your own car, as the schools are located in the countryside where public transportation options are limited. You need to be a trustworthy person who is good at creating positive and empowering relationships with both children, colleagues, and guardians. It is important that you are responsible and collaboration-oriented and good at both working independently and as part of a team. Our after-school program serves approximately 230 students. Our school consists of two buildings where K-6 and the after-school program are in one building and 7-9 are in a separate one. The school is newly built, which gives us excellent opportunities to create a safe and good learning environment. We also have wonderful opportunities with two playgrounds and close proximity to nature. Together we make a difference so that our students succeed in their learning. We view collegial collaboration as an important part of our pedagogical work. One of our development areas is language and knowledge development work, which continues this school year. Our after-school program is part of a language initiative in collaboration with Stockholm University, as part of the school's work plan to increase students' desire to read and improve their reading ability. Since 2023, the school has been working with IBIS (Inclusive Behavior Support in School) in collaboration with Uppsala University. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an after-school program teacher, you are responsible for, together with colleagues, creating good conditions for learning through inspiring and educational instruction throughout the students' entire day. Together you create an after-school program that stimulates recovery, creativity, and movement in accordance with the curriculum's goals for the after-school program. Planning, documentation, and follow-up are natural parts of your work tasks. Collaboration between school and after-school program is an important part that you will also be involved in. QUALIFICATIONS You have a degree and are trained as an after-school program teacher and preferably have a few years of experience. You have a genuine interest in working with students and want to work toward creating a good after-school and school situation with well-being, security, and a good learning atmosphere. As a person, you are calm and handle stress in a constructive way. You are relationship-building and create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have good collaboration skills, are receptive, and communicate constructively. You have a solution-oriented approach and are someone who sees opportunities in change.
