Music production, dance, sports and movement, creative activities, and digital development are some of the specialized programs we offer. We also work as mobile youth leaders by creating positive environments in places where young people gather. Young in Sigtuna operates in line with European principles for local open youth activities. 4 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a temporary youth leader, you'll conduct open youth activities together with your colleagues. You are an important part of our team and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and meaningful leisure time for our young people. You are an important adult role model for the youth and are skilled at relationship-building and coaching work, with a focus on youth participation, well-being, development, and learning. The role includes: • collaborating with your colleagues and management to develop the activities together. • building safe relationships with young people based on respect, trust, and participation • creating a stimulating and inspiring environment for young people by providing opportunities for them to influence and participate in activities based on their own needs and abilities. • creating opportunities for learning, creativity, and the chance to try new activities • actively working for equality, inclusion, and LGBTQI+ rights • representing the activities in meetings with young people, guardians, and civil society • communicating and marketing the activities via social media and website • contributing to the practical operations of the activities and following applicable procedures and safety regulations QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for you with relevant higher education and previous experience working with young people. It's an advantage if you have previous experience running projects with young people and/or have other creative skills that can enrich our activities and/or experience with engagement in civil society organizations. A valid driver's license is required. We'd like to see that you: • are confident, attentive, and relationship-oriented and enjoy working in youth environments. • are committed to youth development, participation, and learning • are organized and can plan, organize, and follow up with young people • are stable and can handle stress and setbacks constructively • are creative, take initiative, and are solution-oriented and willing to think innovatively • are collaboration-oriented, humble, and see opportunities for good partnerships • are interested in social issues, equality, and LGBTQIA+ matters and are experienced in working with critical perspectives and encouraging critical thinking. • have strong digital skills and experience with social media and digital communication. We are a politically governed service organization where residents are our stakeholders. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced exclusion. The department consists of five operational areas: - Culture school, youth culture, open youth activities, and leisure activities - Leisure, sports, swimming hall, ice hall, and association activities - Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museum, library, cultural heritage, Finnish administrative area, and minority work 1 position(s). DUTIES The role involves coordinating the municipality's open youth activities and leisure centers operationally, with a focus on team leadership, activity planning, and development of daily operations. The position also includes initiating and coordinating collaborations with internal and external partners, such as schools, associations, other municipal services, and local organizations. The work involves creating conditions for joint activities, strengthening cooperation, and developing networks around youth activities. A key part of the role is providing operational support to staff, creating structure and continuity, identifying needs, and turning ideas into concrete activities and initiatives. The focus is on creating safe, inclusive, and attractive meeting places where young people have the opportunity to participate, build community, and enjoy meaningful leisure time. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We're looking for someone who wants to help develop our open youth activities and who enjoys a role where you can combine team leadership, coordination, and activity development. We'd like you to have relevant higher education, such as in social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, social pedagogy, leisure science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have documented experience in team leadership and have previously been responsible for leading, delegating, and following up on daily work in an activity or work group. You're comfortable in an operational role and have the ability to create structure, clarity, and good conditions for your colleagues. You are organized and goal-oriented and can plan, organize, follow up, and evaluate activities together with your colleagues. As a leader, you are stable, confident, and coaching. You can handle stress, changes, and setbacks constructively and maintain a professional and solution-oriented approach even when the pace is high. You motivate, support, and develop your colleagues through dialogue, feedback, and clear expectations. You are unpretentious and collaboration-oriented and find it easy to build good relationships with both internal and external partners. You listen to different perspectives and work with others to find solutions that contribute to the activity's shared goals. The position is operational and involves working directly in youth activities. Working hours are therefore scheduled for both evenings and weekends, based on activity needs. You need to be comfortable being close to the activities and meeting young people and colleagues in their daily lives. You need to have a driver's license. Employment form: Permanent position.
