The MACH Control & Protection Platform R&D department is a part of HVDC, Hitachi Energy and is responsible for the development of state-of-the-art control system platform for HVDC and FACTS applications. The MACH C&P department in Ludvika has around 70 employees, focusing mainly on Hardware and Software design working in close collaboration with the global MACH C&P organization. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used, among other things, to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems. How you´ll make an impact You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of valve electronics products which constitute the heart of a HVDC – High Voltage Direct Current system The work requires deep understanding of analog and/or power electronics both theoretical as well as practical tasks. Requirement management, development of design specifications and documentation are part of the work tasks as well You will have the responsibility to create robust designs within the cost and time limits with a product lifecycle management perspective We work in a modern environment where both rapid prototyping and productification takes place. Mechanical Project Engineer

Mechanical Engineer, HVDC Service The Opportunity We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our HVDC Service in Ludvika. We help our customers increase their profits and contribute to a more sustainable future. By improving and ensuring the operation of our customers' existing systems and by replacing all or parts of the control and HVDC equipment, we make this happen. Technology and Engineering within HVDC Service need you to take on the plant's mechanical technical challenges for our deliveries – finding successful solutions from capture teams through quotation and project delivery to customer handover. You will face an exciting challenge with plant mechanical design aspects within a growing market. How You'll Make an Impact • You will have exciting and varied work where you will have contact with both customers and suppliers. Work with global organizations within HVDC Service and have development opportunities within the plant's electromechanical design areas of calculation and design as a project engineer. • In this role, you will work with detailed design, large assemblies, creating drawings and technical documentation, as well as calculations for existing HVDC converter stations. • You will also oversee problem solving, have technical discussions with clients and suppliers to find suitable solutions for refurbishment of existing converter stations. Your Responsibilities • To succeed in the role, you have a mechanical engineering degree or similar. In addition, you have good knowledge of NX and 3D-CAD, and a strong interest in technical solutions within electromechanical design. • Site survey, 3D scan the station and use this information for design work. • Participate in or support site installation. • Moreover, it is a merit if you have worked in a global environment and manufacturing industry and/or have been a consultant in mechanical engineering.
