JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operations and Contracts Manager, Street and Waste Department Do you want to help develop and ensure safe and well-functioning operations in Knivsta municipality? We are now looking for a senior Operations and Contracts Manager for our Street and Waste Department. You will have overall responsibility for monitoring our operations contractors, inspecting throughout the municipality, and managing daily operations. This is a senior role for someone with long and solid experience in operations and maintenance within streets, roads, and infrastructure. You will play a central role in ensuring that our contractors deliver according to contract and that municipal operations function safely, efficiently, and with the right quality. In this role, you will have extensive contact with citizens, contractors, authorities, and colleagues. Therefore, you need to be service-oriented and able to handle inquiries and matters in a professional, attentive, and solution-focused manner. About the Position As Operations and Contracts Manager, you are a key person in our operations and are responsible for ensuring that our contractors deliver according to contract and that operations in Knivsta function smoothly and safely. You will inspect and monitor throughout the municipality, coordinate maintenance work, follow up on contracts, and be an important link between the municipality, citizens, and our contractors. The role encompasses both winter road maintenance and summer maintenance and involves significant personal responsibility for monitoring quality, deviations, and contractor performance. You need to have substantial practical experience in operations management and broad equipment expertise to be able to assess methods, resources, and execution of various types of operations and maintenance work. The position also involves work with procurement and contract matters. Good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU), contract law, and contract management is therefore an important part of the role. Work is based at the office five days per week, combined with regular inspections and presence in the municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: At least 10 years of documented experience with winter road maintenance and summer maintenance. At least 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance within streets, roads, or infrastructure. Extensive practical experience in contractor, operations, and construction activities as well as broad and solid equipment expertise. Good knowledge of ground, construction, and maintenance work. Experience with contractor management, contract monitoring, and quality assurance of contractor deliverables. Good knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU) and experience in participating in or conducting procurements within the operations and maintenance sector. Good understanding of contract law and contract management. Good local knowledge and understanding of local conditions that affect operations and maintenance. Good communication skills and experience collaborating with various stakeholders. A structured approach to work, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to work independently. Strong service focus and ability to treat citizens, contractors, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner. It is beneficial if you have experience from both public and private operations, experience working in a client organization or municipal operations, as well as experience with budget responsibility and financial monitoring of operations contracts.
