Department Manager for the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit, Medical Clinic Varberg
We are seeking a department manager who, together with staff members, wants to be part of developing care within our Nephrology and Dialysis operations. Are you a present leader who builds trust, helps people grow, and wants to be part of developing a business where both employees and missions are in focus? We warmly welcome your application! Job Responsibilities As department manager, you will be offered exciting and varied work where you, as a leader, are responsible for personnel, finances, and work environment, and lead the department toward established goals. You lead the operations so that employees' commitment, participation, and competence develop and are utilized. As a manager, you also contribute to a culture where continuous improvement work is a natural part of daily operations. Since you are the employer's representative and represent Region Halland, it is important to have an understanding of the organization as a whole and contribute to a good collaborative climate—we become better together. You will become part of the Medical Clinic's management group together with the operations manager, eight department managers, and two physician leaders. For us, it is important to have an open and supportive climate where we together improve the daily long-term work in accordance with the hospital's objectives. As a new manager with us, we offer you an introductory program adapted to your background as well as access to the region's management training and manager forums. You will also receive support from us in the management group and our support functions, which are always nearby. You will be employed on a permanent contract in your basic profession with a four-year management appointment. The position is 75% with the possibility to work up to full-time in your basic profession or something the employer considers equivalent. About Us With us, you will meet a workplace where we care for one another. At the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit, you are responsible for a development-oriented and well-functioning clinic with approximately 30 nurses, distributed across three outpatient units. In addition to nurses, the clinic is staffed with physicians and secretaries. We also have support from a dietician, physiotherapist, and social worker. Here, nursing care and medical technology are combined, offering you varied, developmental, and exciting work. Our renal medicine specialty consists of three outpatient units: one clinic for HD (hemodialysis), one for PD (peritoneal dialysis), and a Nephrology Clinic. We also have close collaboration with Ward 4A, which is one of our inpatient departments. Hemodialysis has 29 treatment stations and is conducted during daytime, Monday through Saturday. Some emergency operations occur, and we also perform hemodialysis in the ICU when needed. At the clinic, we work to make patients more independent and offer patients the opportunity for self-dialysis, meaning patients manage most or all of their dialysis independently at the clinic. Directly adjacent to hemodialysis is the Nephrology Clinic, an outpatient clinic specializing in investigating and treating kidney disease and preventing or reducing the risk of complications from kidney disease. Part of our work includes investigation and follow-up treatment of patients who have had kidney transplants. For patients receiving PD dialysis, treatment is carried out at home, where you as a nurse train the patient who then independently or with the help of home care manages the treatment independently. About You We are looking for someone with relevant higher education in healthcare or other education deemed relevant. You have the ability to establish good relationships, lead, and motivate your employees. You have good communication skills and are structured in your work approach. You want to develop your operations, your employees, and your own leadership. It is a merit if you have previous experience as a manager and leader, scheduling, or experience from dialysis and nephrology care. To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you are a person with good self-awareness who strives to be a role model for others. You show personal care and can inspire and motivate your employees in both success and adversity. You see the bigger picture and have an easy time collaborating and building good relationships, both within your clinic and at the hospital and in the region at large. Together with your employees, you work based on patient focus and work joy. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We warmly welcome your application!
