They also design and manufacture innovative components for space systems. GKN Aerospace is now seeking a wax assembly technician/operator for its foundry in Hallstahammar. Wax assembly is one of the first steps in the manufacturing chain and a critical part of the process where components are prepared for further processing in the precision foundry. Your Responsibilities In the role of wax assembly technician, you will work with assembling wax components onto a rod, which is the starting point for the entire casting process. The work is performed manually and requires great precision, patience, and the ability to follow instructions in detail. You work methodically and with high precision, as your work lays the foundation for quality in the subsequent steps of the process. The role also includes working as an operator with wax machines, where you are responsible for monitoring and operating the machines according to given instructions. The work is largely performed sitting and involves fine motor manual work in a calm but concentration-demanding environment. In the machine operator work, however, it is standing work. You will be part of a larger team and report to a team leader. Your responsibilities include: Assemble wax components onto rods through manual work. Work as an operator with wax machines and handle them according to instructions. Follow instructions, drawings, and images for correct assembly. Perform visual inspection of wax components and completed wax trees. Prepare wax components for assembly through dimension checks and inspection of product defects. Repair defects with repair wax or scrape off material as needed. Ensure that components are correctly assembled before the next process step. The position is based on a two-shift schedule. Work Hours - Two-Shift Schedule Morning shift: 06:00–14:00 (Monday–Thursday), 06:00–12:00 (Friday) Afternoon shift: 14:00–23:30 (Monday–Thursday) Your Profile We are looking for someone who enjoys precise and fine motor work and has the patience to work methodically over longer periods. You are calm, organized, and have an easy time following instructions. The role suits you if you enjoy craft-like work tasks and are steady-handed. We also see that you have a technical interest and curiosity about machines and processes. As a person, you are positive, driven, and bring energy to the team. Previous experience is not a requirement, but it is an advantage if you have worked with similar tasks in, for example, craftsmanship, assembly, soldering, or other precision work. The most important thing is your attitude, precision, and willingness to get it right from the start. We would like to see that you: Are precise and have good fine motor skills. Enjoy sitting work and concentration-demanding tasks. Have patience and work calmly and methodically. Have a technical interest. Are positive, engaged, and self-driven. Have experience with craftsmanship, assembly, or similar work (advantageous). Have experience operating machines. Have completed upper secondary education. Have a driver's license (category B). The work may occasionally involve handling chemicals, which requires the use of face protection. Application Process In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace is collaborating with Skill.
