In the fall of 2021, we opened a newly built Campus in Bro Mälarstrand, Upplands-bro municipality. The school is located in a beautiful forest setting and has its own sports hall, kitchen, and all specialized classrooms. JENSEN grundskola Bro Mälarstrand is a grades 4-9 school with approximately 400 students.
We are now seeking an engaged, driven, and knowledgeable school counselor at 50%, who with a great passion for student well-being wants to help create a safe, inclusive, and developmental school environment. For the right person, there are good opportunities to expand the position to full-time by also taking responsibility for the school's administration.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct student conversations such as support, conflict, and crisis talks, and have exploratory conversations with students in groups and individually.
- Serve as support to other staff members, for example during coaching time and participate in the safety team.
- Manage the school's equal treatment plan.
- Actively contribute to the school's overall development and take responsibility for the organization reaching its goals.
- Work both preventively and promotively, with group-strengthening initiatives in classes and with individual students through motivating conversations.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop in their professional role and who wants to contribute to our students' success. In your role as a counselor at JENSEN, you will have the opportunity to, together with engaged colleagues and present school leaders, take overall responsibility for the school. At the same time, you have great freedom to use your skills to support the educational activities and utilize and develop students' resources.
Qualifications
- You must have appropriate education in social work as a counselor, social work degree, or psychology degree, and experience working with young people is a merit.
- In your role as a counselor at our school, we are looking for an employee who has good abilities to build relationships with students and colleagues. You should be outgoing and able to create and maintain your relationships. You have a role that requires you to work well with both school leadership and teachers. You are attentive but also dare to express your views from your perspective as a counselor. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You take great responsibility for your role and your work as a counselor. You structure your approach yourself and drive your processes forward.
- In the role of counselor, you should have well-founded and clear values and integrity. You are guided by ethics and values in decisive situations in your work. The work requires good and wise judgment combined with humility.
Employment Terms
- The position is a permanent employment at 50% with a start date by agreement. A six-month probationary period applies to this position.
