As a research nurse, you work in parallel with various research studies but in close collaboration with physicians and other research nurses. You will be responsible for coordinating multiple research studies simultaneously and have primary responsibility for participant contact. The work involves planning and conducting studies from start to finish according to study protocols. Study-related visits include clinical tasks such as examinations, blood draws, laboratory work, and health assessments. You will plan the visit together with the team, receive participants, and coordinate the different clinical and research-related components (ultrasound, MRI, etc.) so that the visit runs as smoothly as possible for study participants. After the visit, data collection in electronic case report forms and compilation of examination and test results are included. Our operations are broad and varied, offering opportunities to develop expertise in several different areas of urology. At our doctor's clinics, we assist with various examinations and treatments of patients with cancer or stone disease in the urinary tract. At the nurse clinic, we receive patients for instillation treatments and various types of catheter placements. We also have a dedicated group of nurse specialists who follow and support our patients through different phases of their cancer treatment. Additionally, we have a nurse-led clinic where patients with urinary stones are treated with extracorporeal shock wave therapy, as well as a clinic where nurses perform cystoscopies. Telephone advice is also an important part of our activities, where we are available to patients with cancer or stone disease in the urinary tract. The clinic also has administrative tasks, such as clinic and surgery scheduling. We work flexibly and rotate between several different areas of our operations, which creates variety in daily work and provides opportunities to expand your expertise.
