About the position At Medical Unit (ME) Cardiology, within Theme Heart Vessels Neuro at Karolinska University Hospital, we conduct and develop highly specialized cardiac care. Here you will work on a unit with constant focus on development that values your curiosity. As a research nurse, you work in parallel with various research studies but in close collaboration with physicians and other research nurses. The work requires you to develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts between different collaborators, study participants, and principal investigators. You will be responsible for coordinating multiple research studies simultaneously and have primary responsibility for participant contact. The work involves planning and conducting studies from start to finish according to study protocols. Study-related visits include clinical tasks such as examinations, blood draws, laboratory work, and health assessments. You will plan the visit together with the team, receive participants, and coordinate the different clinical and research-related components (ultrasound, MRI, etc.) so that the visit runs as smoothly as possible for study participants. After the visit, data collection in electronic case report forms and compilation of examination and test results are included. Your role also includes: Contributing to expanding the research unit based on growing demand Screening for patients, which can be done with hospitalized patients, through the cardiac clinic, lists or registers, and/or through advertising in various media Informing and enrolling patients in studies Maintaining contact with sponsors, pharmaceutical companies, and monitors Administrative tasks include medical record keeping, database entry, and handling of various study documents. Managing study medications Training research personnel to self-administer medications such as subcutaneous injections, inhalations, etc. Planning and performing patient visits and telephone contact according to study protocols Taking research samples and handling them according to study protocols Taking ECGs, vital parameters, and other routine examinations according to the study protocol. You also coordinate examinations included in the study such as cardiac MRI or ultrasound Coordinating multiple parallel research projects within the patient population. We seek you as someone who is confident in your role as a nurse and has an interest in research and wants to develop within cardiology has well-founded and clear values and the ability to think conceptually about issues from an ethical perspective. Qualifications Requirements: Licensed nurse At least 5 years of professional experience as a nurse Good knowledge of Swedish and English Meritorious: Experience and interest in research activities Experience in cardiac healthcare.
