Treatment Pedagogue for Our New Open Unit in Höör
Treatment Staff for Our New Unit in Höör Would you like to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? SiS Youth Home Hässleholm is planning to open a new unit in Karlsvik-Höör and is therefore seeking additional treatment staff for the unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in launching a new operation! Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, SiS, has the mandate to receive adults and youth who have problems with criminality, drug abuse, or other antisocial behavior. In Hässleholm, we receive youth aged 12-15 with a higher security classification. They begin their care period at units that conduct structured assessments of their treatment needs with recommendations for further interventions. The youth can then move to a treatment unit with us where they work through their individual treatment plans on identified risk areas. Our units in Hässleholm are locked, but in Höör, approximately 30 minutes away, our new open unit is located. About the New Unit: The unit located in Höör will be an open treatment unit and is estimated to open in spring 2027 and will be part of SiS Youth Home Hässleholm's care chain. The opening date is preliminary and may change. Youth come to this unit when they no longer need the heightened security available in Hässleholm. The unit has a lower security classification compared to the operation in Hässleholm, and its 7 youth will train during their placement toward a more independent life and will be prepared for subsequent open care forms/interventions. The youth are primary school students and are planned to attend school in Hässleholm. This means that the position regularly includes travel during work hours and duty in Hässleholm as treatment staff are present during school days. About Working as a Treatment Pedagogue: As a treatment pedagogue, you actively contribute to ensuring that the youth living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. You provide support in the youth's daily life and help ensure that daily activities run smoothly, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. A central task is to be a positive role model for the youth and give them positive experiences from the adult world. In addition to treatment work, documentation and maintaining security according to our routines are also part of the role. Contact person responsibilities are also among your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new staff members and interns. Many different professional categories work at our facility, whom you will regularly encounter. What we all have in common is that we want to make a difference for youth, and we are people who can stand firm even when youth present resistance. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our interactions, our commitment, and our approach. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS' core values: to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with youth as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You should also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or Education from a university/college in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
