Speech-Language Pathologist for Child Rehabilitation – 50% Temporary Position
At Bräcke Children and Youth Residential Care Östergården, ten children and young people with various disabilities and very different ways of communicating live together. There is a dedicated rehabilitation team that works closely with the children and the staff members around them every day. We are now looking for a speech-language pathologist at 50% for a 6-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension. With us, you will get a broad assignment and great opportunity to shape your interventions based on the children's needs. Your Role in the Team As a speech-language pathologist, you are responsible for speech-language pathology interventions for the children at Östergården. The assignment focuses mainly on the children's communication, but may also include support around eating, assistive devices, and guidance for staff. There is rarely a ready-made solution. The children have different conditions and you need to get to know them, experiment, and together with the team find what works. Since much of the work needs to function even when you are not present, you maintain close contact with residential staff, support educators, school, and guardians. There is also an opportunity to be introduced to the dog-assisted therapy led by the occupational therapist, where speech-language pathology interventions have previously been part of the work. With Us at Bräcke Rehabilitation Östergården The rehabilitation team is located where the children live. This allows you to follow the children closely and adapt interventions based on what works in their everyday life. You work together with an occupational therapist, physical therapist, psychologist, doctor, nurse, and dietitian. There is also speech-language pathology expertise connected to the operation who know the children and can support you as you start your assignment. With us, work takes time. Sometimes several meetings are needed just to get to know a child and understand what the next step might be. At the same time, there is great room to test ideas and influence how speech-language pathology interventions are designed. As part of Bräcke Diakoni, we want the knowledge that exists close to the children to also influence how the operation develops. We are a values-based foundation where employees' ideas and commitment are valued. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for you who are a licensed speech-language pathologist. You may be new to the profession or have worked for a few years. What is important is that you are curious, want to get to know the target group, and feel comfortable shaping and structuring your own work. Collaboration is a major part of the role, and you will succeed here by wanting to understand both the child and the people around them. Experience with children, rehabilitation, disabilities, or AAC is an asset but not a requirement. We welcome your application!
Psychologist for Child Rehabilitation – Hourly Position
At Bräcke Children and Youth Residential Home Östergården, ten children and young people with various disabilities and individual needs live and receive care. We have our own rehabilitation team that works closely with the children and the staff around them every day. We are now looking for a psychologist who wants to contribute their expertise when a psychological perspective is needed. Your knowledge also supports the rehabilitation team and residential staff in their work with the child. Through supervision and knowledge support, you can contribute to a better understanding of the child's behavior and how support can be adapted. The assignments are clearly defined and planned in advance. When a new child arrives or a greater need emerges, you will have time to familiarize yourself with the situation, get to know the child, and choose working methods based on the child's circumstances. With Us at Bräcke Rehabilitation Östergården The rehabilitation team is located where the children live. This gives you access to the knowledge about the child that exists in daily life and allows you to contribute your perspective as part of the whole picture.
