Job description As Department Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading, directing, and developing the department toward set goals. The role includes broad responsibility for personnel, work environment, operations, quality, economics, staffing, competency development, and KPI monitoring. Leadership is a central part of the assignment. The role involves close collaboration with the evening/weekend department manager, production management, maintenance, quality, and other support functions. Together, you ensure the right quality at the right time, a safe work environment, and production that meets customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and internal standards. In the role, you contribute both operationally and strategically – with a focus on people, structure, results, and development. Qualifications We are looking for someone with documented experience leading others, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. You are accustomed to taking responsibility for both people and results and have the ability to create structure, follow up on goals, and drive work forward through others. We would like to see that you have post-secondary education in a relevant field, or alternatively experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of work environment and labor law as well as understanding of economics, budgeting, follow-up, and staffing planning. You have experience with quality, processes, and improvement work, and knowledge of LEAN or similar methodologies. Experience from the food industry and production systems is a merit.
