About the position As Department Head for Legal and Security, you will play a central role in building up operations and forming a strong management team. You will lead the department's strategic work and are responsible for developing working methods, structures, and culture that support our long-term direction. The role of department head entails overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel – and you will drive the development of four units within legal affairs, security and preparedness, information management, and procurement, quality and regulatory compliance. You report to the Director General and are part of the agency's management group together with six other department heads. The role includes working in mission-critical operations where high security and good preparedness are central components. You will also lead work in an environment where several of our deliverables are covered by medical device regulations, where broad experience and the ability to create good collaboration become important for building a stable and development-oriented organization. You have a central role in our mission-critical operations where we provide digital solutions for health, which gives healthcare professionals better conditions and increases patient safety. About you To succeed in the role, you need to be a confident and clear leader with high integrity and good judgment. You build trust and give experienced managers and specialists the mandate and conditions to take responsibility within their respective areas. You are strategic and have the ability to see the whole picture and weigh different perspectives against each other. You can handle complex issues, make well-founded assessments, and make decisions even when the choices are not obvious. You are development and collaboration-oriented and have the ability to create trusting relationships both within the agency and with external actors. You combine integrity and respect for legal and security requirements with a pragmatic, solution-focused, and operationally oriented approach. You are courageous and action-oriented and take responsibility for both your own department's and the agency's overall development and results. We are looking for you with: law degree several years of current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel several years of current experience leading other managers in a heavily regulated business current experience leading strategic development and change work in a complex organization good knowledge of public administration and the legal prerequisites for government operations experience with qualified collaboration with both internal and external actors. It is advantageous for the position if you have: experience as a legal director, chief counsel, or equivalent qualified legal management function experience working with security and preparedness experience with information management, data protection, or information security experience working with medical devices or national medical information systems.
