Software Integrator for Marina System
We believe that progress and opportunities are created best together. Welcome to a place where collaboration makes a difference. Your Role A naval vessel must be able to compile data from sensors and data links and based on this decide on any necessary actions. Saab Naval Combat Systems develops systems of both hardware and software to make the vessel's combat management center function better than the opponent's - but without our software integrators, the system wouldn't work at all. We now have an exceptional amount to do and need to grow our team! The integrator makes the combat management system's software function on computers and specially built hardware. Software and network configuration is a large part of the work, as is troubleshooting, operating simulators, and resolving interfaces with other vendors' products. The systems are large and complex and no delivery is the same as another. You need to some extent be able to interpret code, but this is not a coding role. The challenge lies in understanding how your current problem can be structured to be tackled in the best way, and then moving from there to concretely solving it. The integrator works closely with other integrators, testers, and software developers. It is in the nature of the work that planned tasks can be reshuffled with short notice when unplanned things happen, which they tend to do in large software systems. Most of the work is done at a keyboard, but the keyboard can be in an office, in a test facility, or on a vessel; in Sweden or abroad. You will be mostly in the office but business travel may occur. You will most likely begin your service in Veddesta, Järfälla. We have facilities in Solna Strand but you should expect to be in Järfälla for the foreseeable future. The integrators do much of their work in our reference facilities located at the office, which is why opportunities for remote work are limited. We have a growing need for software integrators who want to and can travel extensively and be away for longer periods at a time. If you enjoy that, it's a welcome bonus but not a requirement for this role. Your Profile We are looking for someone with a technical background. The less work experience you have, the more important it is that you have a relevant academic degree. Degree programs in higher education, civil engineering, or computer science are common academic backgrounds. In addition to education, you may also have worked as a tester, network specialist, software developer, or why not as a software integrator. We are open to applications with different experience backgrounds. To thrive in the role, we believe you have an interest in technology and probably enjoy computers and networks. You enjoy figuring things out, but are not afraid to ask for help or for that matter help others. To succeed in the role, we believe you are solution-oriented and can drive your own work forward in a structured way, but when needed can also improvise, then document what has been done. Furthermore, we believe you enjoy working with others and have an easy time collaborating. No integrator is a lone hero who can do everything themselves. In-depth knowledge in any of the areas below is a merit: Linux Switches and networks You need to master Swedish and English. The position requires that you complete and are approved according to applicable regulations for security clearance at any given time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship. What You Become Part Of Discover endless possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts. Saab is a leading defense and security company with the purpose of helping nations protect their people and contribute to security for individuals and societies. With 28,000 talented employees, Saab develops technology and solutions for a safer and more sustainable world.
