The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. The inmates also operate an ecological farm with grain cultivation and livestock management. Both prisons are within walking distance of each other and are accessible by bus or car. Job Description As a Security Officer, you will become a key person in security work within Stockholm West, working under the Prison Inspector for Security and as part of the local security organization. The role combines operational and administrative tasks, making it both dynamic and developmental. You serve as a security advisor to the management group and work groups and represent the operations in security forums both internally and externally. A significant part of your work involves monitoring and developing security measures. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting security training and have a central coordinating role for the entire operations area, which includes Färingsö and Svartsjö. Your main areas of responsibility include Developing and implementing procedures. You establish local work procedures and guidelines for the security handbook to ensure a high and consistent security standard. ISAP coordination. As the local ISAP coordinator, you analyze incident reports and contribute to improvements within the operations. Liaison with the Intelligence Department (UND). You are an important link between the security department and UND, which requires both integrity and strategic thinking. Supervision and quality assurance. You conduct regular inspections and lead the work with Q-säk (quality assurance of security work) together with management. Leadership and training. You are responsible for security meetings, orient new employees on security matters, and conduct security briefings for external stakeholders. Job Responsibilities The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides certain open health and medical care, which means all correctional facilities and remand prisons have health clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, the clinics are staffed with general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a registered nurse with coordination responsibility, you will share operational responsibility for healthcare at Stockholm West Business Area with the correctional facility inspector. As the coordinating nurse, you are responsible for supervising healthcare personnel, follow-up, quality assurance, and developing operations toward established goals, as well as contributing to the efficient and safe utilization of the business area's total resources. Training in suicide prevention, acute care, and collaboration with other prison staff is included, as is review of healthcare-related invoices. As a nurse, you both maintain your own clinic for assessment of minor conditions and evaluate which patients should see a physician. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at physician consultations, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. At the Färingsö facility/remand prison, three nurses currently work with shared responsibility for the facility and remand prison. The coordinating nurse is included in one of these positions. In Stockholm West Business Area, the Svartsjö facility also employs three nurses. Together, these nurses will form the Stockholm West Business Area's healthcare team with a shared manager. The nurses at Stockholm West Business Area will cover for each other during training, vacation, or other absences. You work in a team with other professionals to maintain a safe and secure operation and to motivate inmates toward a crime-free life.
