The unit will be built up with four mobile interprofessional teams consisting of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and healthcare administrators. In total, the unit will have approximately 25 employees. The target group consists of children and young people with complex psychiatric and social comorbidity, often with experience of care breakdowns, repeated placements, and serious mental health issues. The catchment area covers the entire Västra Götaland region. Initially, the service will focus on adolescents placed in SiS homes in the region. Over time, children and young people in HVB homes and within the Prison Service are also planned to be included in the mandate. The unit is part of the operational area of Neurology and Child Psychiatry at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, within the section for Child Psychiatry 24-Hour Care and Specialty Outpatient Clinics. The service is mobile and meets patients where they are. Work is conducted in a team-based approach with close collaboration between professionals.
