The health stations are part of the South Lapland local care area, which is a model area in the transition to close-to-home care. With effective collaboration and a focus on citizens, we drive important change initiatives within the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessment at a distance and digital care meetings are developing rapidly and are an important part of ensuring good, accessible, and close-to-home care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this field. The health station model, which is an important starting point for close-to-home care, characterizes both the approach and working methods in the daily operations.
Storuman, Sorsele, and Tärnaby health stations are part of the same base unit and are located in South Lapland, 13 miles apart, with Sorsele and Storuman 7 miles apart. The nearest hospital is Lycksele, where the county's ambulance helicopter is stationed.
Our health stations function as well-equipped mini-hospitals with access to acute care beds, X-ray, ambulance services, and laboratory. Our telemedicine use is well developed. We have occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, counselors, physicians, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide acute care as well as standard health center work and have well-developed collaboration between all our professions and with the municipalities.
We are now seeking a specialist physician in general medicine for our health station in Storuman.

JOB DUTIES
As a specialist physician with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel safe and affirmed in their encounters with you. General medicine is characterized by meetings with people of all ages with all kinds of health-related problems. In specialist general medicine work, you will follow an individual's various health issues over time and in your assessment consider the person's entire life situation.
Your work includes both outpatient clinic work and work on the health station's ward. Outpatient work includes planned and acute primary care as well as acute management of patients who are handled at emergency departments in other larger cities. You will also meet this latter group of patients during your on-call shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking you as a licensed specialist physician in general medicine. Interest in mentoring students and medical residents is important. You are a present and positive person who with knowledge and care sees the patient and can adapt care to the needs that exist. You enjoy collaborating and being there for other people, both patients and colleagues. You see possibilities, can manage your workday even when patient load is high, and you can independently make decisions on the matters you face.
You have good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1.
A driver's license is a requirement.
Employment form: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01 or by agreement.
Working hours: Shift schedule.
