Center for Surgical Operations (COV) in Skellefteå brings together several operations with a shared focus on surgical care. The center encompasses surgical and orthopedic care, along with anesthesia, operating room, and intensive care operations.
The Anesthesia, Operating Room, and Intensive Care operations in Skellefteå provide both acute and planned anesthesia and surgical care for adults and children from 1 year of age. The operations also include postoperative care, intensive care for adults, and sterilization services. The operations are conducted in close collaboration with other clinics in the region. Within operating room operations, we collaborate with general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology and obstetrics, otolaryngology, dental care, and ophthalmology. Within intensive care, there is close collaboration with internal medicine-geriatrics and the children's clinic. We also have a vascular access team with expertise in venous ports, pacemakers, and PICC lines, as well as an anesthesia clinic with a special focus on pain management.

We are now seeking a Medical Director for Anesthesia, Operating Room, and Intensive Care in Skellefteå.
As a manager in Region Västerbotten, you have an important responsibility for both employees and residents of the region. DUTIES
As Medical Director, you see the whole picture and potential, and you take us boldly forward. You serve as a role model, work to create shared visions, and unleash action within your operations. You challenge and develop, and encourage and highlight your employees. You take responsibility for your operations within your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing toward established goals for the Region's benefit.
You combine clinical work with medical management and are part of the center's management group. Work in the management group involves actively participating in evaluation and in developing goals and development activities. In close collaboration with department heads, you are responsible for leading Anesthesia, Operating Room, and Intensive Care toward established goals. You have economic, quality, education, and medical management responsibility, as well as occupational environment responsibility for the department's physicians.
As Medical Director, you drive quality and improvement initiatives and plan medical development within the operations. You have very close collaboration with department heads where you together work toward a health-promoting and attractive workplace. In addition to department heads in your own unit, you work closely with other managers in the center and report to the operations manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a licensed physician with specialist training in anesthesia and intensive care. It is also meritorious to have education and/or experience in leadership or previous medical management responsibility.
