The unit is responsible for Swedish bird ringing and for measuring pollen, conducting pollen analyses, and publishing pollen forecasts for Sweden's allergy sufferers. Research on bird migration patterns is also conducted here, and data from both the ringing and pollen activities are made available for research. The department includes two additional units that conduct research and work on assignment for other government agencies. Activities include, among other things, the spread of environmental toxins in nature, health status of various animal species, genetic species identification, and population monitoring of, for example, marine mammals, bears, and arctic foxes. We are in a development phase and are now seeking a Senior Assistant to the Bird Ringing Centre for a fixed-term position of approximately 12 months. 1 position(s). DUTIES As Senior Assistant at the Bird Ringing Centre, you will participate in administering Swedish bird ringing. A large part of the work consists of quality assuring, registering, and processing incoming recovery reports from Sweden and abroad. The work involves many contacts with bird ringers, finders, and foreign bird ringing centres. You will also handle ring orders, work with reports on bird ringing data, and provide service to researchers and the general public. The duties also include digitizing older material and, if needed, contributing to other tasks within the Bird Ringing Centre's operations. QUALIFICATIONS You have academic education in biology or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of bird ringing and experience with practical bird ringing. Good knowledge of Swedish bird fauna, bird biology, and migration is also advantageous. Since the work involves many contacts, both in Sweden and internationally, you need to have a good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Experience with database management and SQL is advantageous, as is experience using software such as R. Employment form: Fixed-term position. Duration: 6 months or longer. The nurse shall perform healthcare work with good patient care, which includes planning, implementing, and following up on nursing interventions as well as taking responsibility for and leading nursing work. The nurse's primary responsibilities and work areas are medication management, health assessments, nursing interventions, and cooperation with both internal and external parties regarding healthcare in connection with admission, during the care period, and in preparation for discharge from or transfer within SiS.
