Job Description As a nurse at SiS Youth Institution Tysslinge, you will collaborate with other professionals in an important public service mission. Your expertise is needed and valued here. You will become part of our healthcare organization consisting of nurses and psychologists. In cooperation with a nearby health center, we have general practitioners who conduct rounds on-site weekly. For young people under 18 years, we have a cooperation agreement with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) Region Stockholm, which means that BUP provides psychiatric care services on-site at Tysslinge weekly. For young people over 18 years, we engage psychiatrists through staffing companies as needed. Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to quality care and treatment at both individual and group levels through individual contacts and by educating and guiding treatment staff on healthcare matters. We are now seeking a Nurse for a permanent position. The nurse shall perform healthcare work with good patient care, which includes planning, implementing, and following up on nursing interventions as well as taking responsibility for and leading nursing work. The nurse's primary responsibilities and work areas are medication management, health assessments, nursing interventions, and cooperation with both internal and external parties regarding healthcare in connection with admission, during the care period, and in preparation for discharge from or transfer within SiS. Work tasks include, among others: Responsibility for medication management including ordering, preparation, and administration of medications, as well as follow-up and evaluation of the patient's prescribed medications. Educating staff in safe medication management, delegating medication management to institution personnel, and monitoring quality in medication handling. Participating in treatment teams and contributing healthcare expertise in treatment planning. Participating in the Tysslinge School student health team, contributing healthcare expertise in student health work, and implementing preventive and health-promoting student health measures. Assessing care needs and planning interventions, both within the scope of the facility's own activities and in cooperation with regional healthcare units in the patient's care pathway. Implementing nursing interventions Conducting health assessments Preparing incoming issues for doctor rounds and cooperating with doctors during and after round work regarding follow-up of planned and completed interventions. Working with systematic quality and improvement efforts in healthcare, for example handling deviation reports within the healthcare field. Conducting educational initiatives within the healthcare field and CPR training for the institution's staff. About the Workplace SiS Youth Institution Tysslinge is a maximum-security institution that receives young people with high risks of threats, violence, and escape. The institution has a total of seven units that receive young people placed according to the Care of Young People Act (LVU) and young people sentenced under the Secure Youth Care Act (LSU). One of the units consists of places for young people who are cared for in isolation (VIE) for a period. Because SiS Youth Institution Tysslinge has the highest security classification within SiS, you will need to work with high risk awareness. You communicate clearly, are attentive and affirming in your approach to young people. You are able to build alliances and create collaborations with young people with challenging behaviors, and can help young people feel trust and confidence in you.
