The dietitian works together with the multiprofessional team in close collaboration around patients and is important expertise in nutrition matters both on the unit, before discharge home, and in extended inpatient care at home. The dietitian conducts nutritional assessments and designs nutritional treatments, prescribes enteral nutrition support in the medication list, assesses energy requirements and recommends nutritional solutions for parenteral nutrition, and supports physicians in assessing the risk of refeeding syndrome. The Alma team provides follow-up healthcare in the patient's home. At the dietitian clinic, we work closely together and support one another across our areas of responsibility when needed.
