Laboratory Engineer

On behalf of our client we are seeking a Laboratory Engineer. The Laboratory Engineer will be placed at the fermentation pilot facility in Karlshamn, the New Food Technology Development Center, and will support with laboratory activities in the field of microbiology and biotechnology. The Laboratory Engineer is an essential part of the team supporting pilot-scale fermentation trials in the pilot facility and will work together with trial leaders, bioprocess engineers and process specialists to ensure the successful preparation and execution of trials. The work tasks include microbiology work such as preparation of seed cultures for fermentation, preparation of cultivation media, sterile handling of media and cultures, operation of autoclave and identification of microorganisms using microscopy and Gram staining. The Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KIT) activity area operates at ten hospitals in Skåne and has just over 200 employees. The activity is responsible for laboratory operations within clinical immunology, transfusion medicine, and transplantation immunology, as well as blood donation in Skåne. WORK TASKS As a biomedical analyst with us, you will have varied and meaningful work where meeting the blood donor is central. With us, you work with blood donor recruitment, blood donation, component production, blood group immunological analyses, and blood release. You are responsible for the entire blood donation process from receiving and assessing the blood donor to conducting the blood donation and following up on the donor's well-being during and after the donation. As a biomedical analyst, you have the opportunity to combine laboratory work with service-oriented work in blood donation and donor recruitment. The work tasks are varied and there are great opportunities to take increased responsibility for, for example, a process or area, and thereby expand your knowledge and experience. Working hours are primarily scheduled on weekdays during daytime. The goal is that you work an evening shift every other week, but based on the activity's needs, an evening shift per week may occur.
