Job Description As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with clients. Work tasks in prisons/remand facilities vary: care, supervision, search, and security work are combined with release planning and counseling/motivational work. Work in prisons and remand facilities is often routine-based and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be held on remand for extended periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and remand facility staff, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer. Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference in people's lives and contribute to a better society.
