ABOUT THE ROLE As Engineering Manager Software Development, you will lead a team of 15 software engineers developing advanced control systems for marine propulsion solutions. Software development is primarily carried out on a Linux-based platform using technologies such as C, C++, Go, and React. The team works across two main areas: customer-specific adaptations of existing products and the development of next-generation systems and functionality. Your role is to set direction and priorities across both areas and ensure that complex initiatives move from decision to completed, high-quality delivery. You will also help shape the future of Berg's software development capabilities by identifying how AI-assisted development and other emerging technologies can be introduced securely, responsibly, and where they create real value. Combining leadership with technical understanding, you will drive structure, prioritization, and ways of working while contributing to technical discussions and architecture and design decisions. You will collaborate closely with hardware, systems, product, and other engineering functions to create alignment across disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop the software engineering team, supporting individual growth and team performance. Translate priorities and decisions into clear plans, ownership, and accountability. Ensure on-time delivery of order-specific software releases. Drive complex software development initiatives through to completed, quality-assured delivery. You will report to the CTO. The position is based in Hönö, and fluency in Swedish and English is required.
