The department has operations at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The department educates and conducts research in pedagogy, psychology, and social work. Duties The research project is at the intersection of social psychology and sociolinguistics and examines how accents function as social signals. The focus is on social perception, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors in relation to foreign accents. The research addresses questions about stereotypes, discrimination, and social inclusion from Swedish and international perspectives, with a consistent gender perspective throughout. The project is interdisciplinary and has connections to work and organizational psychology, political science, gender studies, and research on integration and belonging. Methodologically, the project is based primarily on experimental studies and psychometric approaches, with the possibility of also applying neuroscientific methods. The work is conducted within the discipline of psychology, characterized by a personal and close-knit environment with collegial support among colleagues. The doctoral student will be part of an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented research environment and work in close collaboration with advisors, while great emphasis is placed on developing independence in planning, implementation, and scientific communication. About the Operations Surgical Acute Care Unit (KAVA) is the county hospital's acute care department for patients within the surgical clinic. KAVA has 18 inpatient beds and receives the majority of patients admitted through the emergency department in general surgery. Common diagnoses here include trauma, appendicitis, cholecystitis, ileus, and gastrointestinal bleeding. We also have the unique capability to perform gastroscopies on the unit. We have initiated a collaboration with Professor Anna Forsberg and work according to an approach based on continuity and secure care relationships. Together, we develop structures that strengthen the quality of care and create conditions for safe and cohesive care. On the unit, we work with Cosmic Nova, a digital tool that gives you a comprehensive and current overview of your patients. With a personal tablet that you carry with you during your shift, you have easy access to, for example, patient information and planned interventions. The tool provides you with clear structure and facilitates planning of your daily work. We have the benefit of applying a wish schedule system, which means you have the opportunity to request your schedule within given parameters.
