Language Center is Strängnäs Municipality's unit for mother tongue instruction and study mentoring. Language Center works with newly arrived students with a language background other than Swedish, as well as Swedish-speaking children who have attended school abroad and will be entering Strängnäs Municipality's education system. We view mother tongue instruction and study mentoring as a very important part of students' language development and goal achievement. We are now seeking a study mentor/mother tongue teacher in Portuguese. The work takes place during daytime hours. 1 position(s). RESPONSIBILITIES As a study mentor, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and developing instruction together with the responsible teacher according to each student's circumstances. The work involves working on-site at different schools in the municipality, which may require you to move between schools during the workday. You will work approximately 6 hours per week, but this may change during the term. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you if you have: • Qualified mother tongue teacher or licensed teacher. • Strong knowledge, both spoken and written, in the mother tongue Portuguese. • Strong knowledge, both spoken and written, in Swedish. • Previous experience in mother tongue instruction or study mentoring. It is also advantageous if you have/are: • Previous experience in mother tongue instruction or study mentoring • B-class driver's license, as the position may involve travel between schools within the municipality. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
