The department has operations at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The department educates and conducts research in pedagogy, psychology, and social work. Duties The research project is at the intersection of social psychology and sociolinguistics and examines how accents function as social signals. The focus is on social perception, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors in relation to foreign accents. The research addresses questions about stereotypes, discrimination, and social inclusion from Swedish and international perspectives, with a consistent gender perspective throughout. The project is interdisciplinary and has connections to work and organizational psychology, political science, gender studies, and research on integration and belonging. Methodologically, the project is based primarily on experimental studies and psychometric approaches, with the possibility of also applying neuroscientific methods.
