The Psychiatry Department (Adult Psychiatry) encompasses both outpatient and 24-hour care, an acute reception unit, and a mobile care team, serving patients in Jämtland County who need specialist psychiatric care. The department has approximately 270 employees in total. Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is housed under one roof, providing excellent opportunities for close collaboration with colleagues in other units and personal development for you as an employee. The department implements targeted initiatives on work environment, education, and safety for staff in 24-hour care. We are seeking nurses for teams within our 24-hour care! We can offer regular nurse positions in one of our three departments, as well as a one-year Trainee Program for those who wish an introduction to psychiatry with in-house training, mentorship, and the opportunity to try working in different departments. The Trainee Program is open to newly graduated nurses as well as more experienced nurses—what matters most is your interest in psychiatric nursing care. Our 24-hour care departments: • Department 1b specializing in acute psychiatry. • Department 4a offers psychiatric 24-hour care with a focus on psychosis and eating disorder care. • Department 4b offers psychiatric 24-hour care focusing on affective disorders and geriatric conditions. Together we will find the department that best suits you based on your experience, interests, and our joint interview process. 3 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a nurse in 24-hour care, you work closely with patients and as a team leader for staff, helping patients with their daily lives, personal care, and social contacts. You work with other professions such as healthcare assistants, physicians, social workers, and psychologists. You will have a broad and exciting field of work and close collaboration with the department's outpatient services. We always strive for employee-driven improvement work to achieve our goals of good, safe care and professional patient interaction. The Trainee Program gives you a unique opportunity to be introduced to patient care primarily within psychiatric 24-hour care. By following patients' journeys and care flows across different units, you gain valuable practical experience and an extensive network throughout psychiatry. You participate in patient meetings concerning various psychiatric conditions and illnesses in contact and collaboration with different professional groups and specialist teams, which provides a good understanding of psychiatric care. As a Trainee employee, you are prioritized for offers of in-house training and follow a structured program with mentorship and varied work tasks. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, Region Jämtland Härjedalen's basic training, running in parallel throughout the year. What you receive as an employee in the Trainee Program: A permanent position in psychiatry. An individually tailored introduction to nursing within psychiatry. A personal mentor throughout the year. Regular mentoring meetings. You work independently with patients with support from experienced nurses in the department.
